Adani Group Goes Big on Defence and Infrastructure with Record ₹1.53 Lakh Crore Investment
Business Desk – Adani Group, one of India's largest infrastructure conglomerates, has unveiled an ambitious growth roadmap during its 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM). Chairman Gautam Adani announced that the group made a record investment of ₹1.53 lakh crore in FY 2025-26, accounting for more than 30 percent of the country's private sector capital expenditure. Addressing shareholders, Gautam Adani said the group is positioning itself for the future and has strengthened its presence across key sectors, including energy, transport, logistics and industrial manufacturing. To improve efficiency, the company will introduce a new three-layer management framework aimed at faster decision-making and reduced bureaucracy. The group also plans to strengthen cooperation with contractors and business partners by introducing systems that enhance transparency, accountability and project execution. Employee welfare remains another major focus, with nearly four lakh people directly and indirectly associated with Adani Group operations. The company has reaffirmed its commitment to better housing, quality food, healthcare support and fair wages for its workforce. Beyond infrastructure, Adani Group is rapidly expanding into the defence and aerospace sectors. It is developing a national aerospace platform covering manufacturing, MRO services, aviation operations and pilot training. According to Gautam Adani, the group’s drone systems, anti-drone technology and ammunition supported Indian security forces during Operation Sindoor. Financially, the group reported strong growth, with market capitalization nearing ₹20 lakh crore and EBITDA reaching ₹94,834 crore. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley's target price of ₹3,638 for Adani Enterprises has further increased investor interest, making the group’s future strategies and stock performance closely watched by the market.
