Fifteen-year-old Rajasthan Royals sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to take IPL 2026 by storm with his fearless batting and record-breaking performances. In a thrilling match against Lucknow Super Giants at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the young batter smashed an explosive 93 runs off just 38 balls, helping Rajasthan Royals chase down a massive target of 221 runs with ease.
Vaibhav’s innings included seven boundaries and ten towering sixes at a remarkable strike rate of 244.74. During the knock, he achieved several historic milestones and further established himself as one of the most exciting talents of IPL 2026.
One of his biggest achievements was becoming the youngest player in the world to score 500 runs in any T20 tournament. He crossed the milestone during the match against Lucknow and surpassed the previous IPL record held by Rishabh Pant, who had achieved the feat in the 2018 season.
Vaibhav also became the first Indian batter to smash 50 sixes in a single IPL season. Before the match, he had already hit 43 sixes and crossed the landmark with a breathtaking display of power-hitting against Lucknow’s bowlers. His total sixes tally for the season has now reached 53, allowing him to move past Andre Russell in the all-time IPL single-season six-hitting list.
Now, only Chris Gayle stands ahead of him with the legendary record of 59 sixes in one IPL season. Cricket fans are eagerly watching to see whether the 15-year-old prodigy can break Gayle’s long-standing record before the tournament ends.
Apart from his six-hitting heroics, Vaibhav has also rewritten the record books with his incredible strike rate. He has scored 579 runs this season at a strike rate of 236.3, the highest ever for a batter scoring over 500 runs in a single IPL season. In doing so, he broke Andre Russell’s previous record from IPL 2019.
The match itself was another memorable victory for Rajasthan Royals. Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants posted 220/5 in 20 overs, thanks to brilliant knocks from Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis. However, Rajasthan chased the target comfortably in 19.1 overs and secured a place in the IPL 2026 top four.
With every match, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is not only winning games but also creating history at an age when most cricketers are still dreaming of playing professional cricket.
