PM Gives 51,000 Job Offers, Says Youth Will Shape India’s Development Future
At the 19th Employment Fair, the Government of India distributed appointment letters to more than 51,000 young candidates across the country, marking another major step in the ongoing nationwide recruitment drive. The event was conducted in 47 cities and was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing. He congratulated the selected youth and described them as new partners in India’s development journey. The job fair saw recruitment across several key government departments, including Indian Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Health Services, Financial Services, and Higher Education. The Prime Minister emphasized that these appointments are not only career opportunities for the youth but also a responsibility to contribute to nation-building. He said that India’s young workforce is increasingly being recognized globally for its skills, innovation, and technological strength. During his address, PM Modi highlighted that over 18 previous job fairs have already been conducted across the country, through which nearly 1.2 million appointment letters have been issued so far. He noted that the initiative, which began in October 2022, was aimed at providing 1 million government jobs to youth by the end of 2023, a target that has been significantly expanded and sustained through continued recruitment phases. By 2025, the program had already crossed the milestone of 1.1 million job letters distributed. The Prime Minister also reflected on the broader significance of employment in nation-building. He stated that securing a government job is the result of years of preparation, discipline, and dedication, not only from the candidate but also from their families and social support systems. According to him, every successful candidate represents the combined effort of parents, teachers, and society at large. PM Modi further spoke about India’s growing global engagement, particularly during his recent five-nation visit. He shared that international leaders and global companies are showing strong interest in India’s youth and technological progress. Discussions with countries such as the Netherlands focused on semiconductors, water management, and agriculture, while talks with Sweden emphasized artificial intelligence and digital innovation. Cooperation with Norway in green technology and maritime sectors was also highlighted. He added that partnerships with nations like the UAE and Italy in shipbuilding, green transition, and sustainable technologies will play a major role in shaping global development over the next few decades. He stressed that India’s youth will be central to driving these emerging sectors forward. The Prime Minister concluded by congratulating all selected candidates and their families, calling this moment not just the beginning of government service careers but also an opportunity to actively contribute to India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
