The founder of the so-called “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP), Abhijeet Dipke, has claimed that he has regained control of his Instagram account after alleging that it was hacked earlier this week. On Sunday, Dipke shared a video on Instagram announcing the return of the account with the caption, “We’re back, you forgot what we’re capable of to survive,” alongside an image of a cockroach. The post quickly gained attention across social media platforms.
A day earlier, Dipke had alleged that both his personal Instagram account and the official CJP account had been compromised. The controversy intensified after he posted follower statistics on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that more than 94% of his followers are from India. He questioned why Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and others were allegedly portraying his supporters as Pakistanis.
The remarks came after Rijiju, in a post on X, suggested that certain social media influencers and online groups were seeking support from Pakistan-based users and networks allegedly linked to billionaire investor George Soros. Rijiju stated that India already has a large youth population and does not need assistance from “anti-India groups.” Although he did not directly name CJP or Dipke, many social media users connected the comments to the growing online movement.
Meanwhile, the Cockroach Janata Party’s official website remains inaccessible. Dipke claimed that the website was shut down by the government. According to him, nearly one million people had registered on the platform, and over 600,000 individuals had signed an online petition demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. As of Sunday evening, visitors attempting to access the website were still seeing the message, “This site cannot be reached.”
Despite the hacking claims and the website outage, the party’s online popularity appears to be growing rapidly. The CJP Instagram account reportedly crossed 22.7 million followers by Sunday afternoon, while Dipke’s personal X account also witnessed a sharp increase in engagement and followers.
The incident has sparked intense debate online, with supporters calling it a case of digital suppression, while critics argue that the movement is using controversy to gain visibility. The issue has now become a major talking point across Indian social media, especially among young internet users.
